A new poster of the upcoming horror film, Stree, is out. The film, which has a rather interesting twist to a popular Hindi saying, Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota, boldly declares that ‘Mard Ko Dard Hoga’.

The intriguing new poster has Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, facing each other and looking rather romantic. In the background, a huge side profile of a hooded woman, can be seen. She almost looks like a witch. It’s evening hour (perhaps night), the witch-like figure’s face is set against a huge moon. Shraddha is dressed in a red and black ghagra choli while Rajkummar sports a dark blue shirt and black pants. They look rather regular ordinary, people from small-town India. In the background we also see a Ferris wheel. Next to these two, we see Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakshi Khurrana gawking at them with a look of fear and surprise in their eyes.

In an older teaser, released some time back, the viewers are taken to in the inner alleyways of small-town India, where houses are situated in close proximity. Sharing walls would give you a sense of security, one would believe. Not quite as the teaser travels via alleys (we would believe it is the ghost travelling) as every second wall on the way shows a signage: “Aao Stree, Kal Aana (Come lady, come tomorrow)”. A voice over says: “Wohi stree kal aana, jahan koi mard nahin, kal aana.”

The teaser opens saying: “Based on ridiculously true phenomenon”. Now, make your own judgement with a statement like that.

In another poster, shared by Rajkummar, we see a woman draped in a red sari.

Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree seems like a horror film. Written by Raj and DK, the film has Shraddha Kapoor opposite Rajkummar. The film has been shot at Chanderi, a small town near Bhopal.

Dinesh Vijan is producing the project under his company Maddock Films. The writer-director duo is reuniting with Vijan after Go Goa Gone. They had also directed the 2013 zombie comedy.
